LDS Church Cannery Prices

I was wondering about the price of oats at Albertsons (42 oz for $1.50-when you buy 4), and how that compared to the LDS church cannery price. I couldn't get it off my mind, so for you all this is what I found.

Here is a current cannery PRICE SHEET

Looks like Albertsons is about $.03 an ounce, whereas the cannery is $.05 to $.07 and ounce.

Good to know! I just went to the cannery the other day and I thought maybe I could find better deals on a few things. It is nice to have them canned, though, improved shelf-life is good for something!

I love your blog by the way.

Low prices aren't worth much if you can't preserve the food for the long term (if that is your goal). Too bad the LDS cannery won't let you can your own stuff.

I bought a can sealer so I can do it, but they're expensive if you don't get a deal on a used one.

The cannery here in Colorado Springs has a "loaner" canning system if you buys the cans/materials from them. Just bring it back when you are done.
Maybe it is time to check the cannery near you to see if they have the same system now.
